Transfer switches basically police the connections of your business to utility power and generator power. The transfer switch prevents any form of overlap, and in the event of an outage gives you a direct and simple method of powering critical functions, comfort solutions, lights, and emergency equipment.

manual transfer switch connects a generator to your home’s main circuits and switches them to run on backup power during an outage. This means any appliance on that circuit will be powered. Many manual transfer switches are NEMA rated for indoor or outdoor installation

An automatic transfer switch (ATS) is a device that automatically transfers a power supply from its primary source to a backup source when it senses a failure or outage in the primary source

Your Electrical Contractor should be asking you about your current natural gas and electrical usage. Such as what appliances do you have? And are they electric or natural gas powered?

Here are some things you should know about getting a natural gas generator.

  • Your Electrical Contractor should contact your natural gas provider to see if your gas line is sufficient to handle the additional usage the generator would require.
  • A gas line upgrade or a meter change may be needed.

Do not let others sell you a generator that is the wrong size for what you need. If you get a generator that is too small the generator will fail. If you get one that’s too big it can cost you hundreds more.

Pizano Electric asks questions others may not to get you the right product to meet your needs!

ENERGY REBATES

As a business owner, you look for investments with an attractive rate of return. Energy efficient lighting is just such an investment. As much as 40% of your electric bill may be just keeping the lights on. Rebates are available through Mid American Energy on updates of qualifying equipment up to 70% of the installed cost (materials and reasonable labor). Please contact Mid American Energy for more information and how to register for their high efficiency lighting rebate program. This program covers updating of old T-12 and T-8 fluorescents to T-5 or LED systems.

Please don’t allow someone to talk you into rebuilding your old fluorescents. Switching from T-12 to T-8 fluorescents is not the improvement you are looking for. Allow Pizano Electric to brighten your future by updating your lighting and saving you money!
